Gond art is unique to it's namesake Adivasi community in Madhya Pradesh. The artist communities are also spread across Andhra, Orissa and Maharashtra. The art is inspired by the communities reverence of nature, it's trees, animals, water bodies, mountains and more. The art and it's stories are thus sacred. This painting shows a Deer, Nilgai and Birds playing under a tree.
Originally the Gond community painted their homes. Making paintings and decorating functional items commercially came much later, in the 20th century. 
Mithilesh Shyam started painting when he was eight years old. While they are from the Gond community, his parents were not artists. They were construction workers. One of his uncles realized Mithilesh had artistic talent and took him under his wing. Since then Mithilesh has struggled between painting and doing odd jobs for sustenance. His focus is commendable as is his art.
