Hand Embroidered Haathi in Paako Kaam. KalaRaksha was founded with the intention of preserving rich traditions of Kutchi hand embroidery. The work is extremely detailed with intricate and delicate stitches counted on the warp and weft of the base fabric. As they get older, their vision gets compromised and by the time they reach their 50s they are probably unable to work intricate stitches. To ensure the veteran women artisans are employed & self reliant through these arts by giving them income generation opportunities. For the older artists, Kala Raksha has fun projects like embroidered fabric dolls and games that do not need to strain their eyesight yet need a keen sense of aesthetics. Size: 5 x 3.5 inches
