Mirrorwork or Abla Kaam is intrinsic to the Kutch region. The desert faces severe draught & the sparkling mirrors are symbolic of water.

Harish bhai & Dulari ben have been embroidery artists for decades & they have a team of embroidery artists who they've trained over the years.

They are hoping their daughters keep this art going after they complete their education. Currently in between schools, classes, exams, home chores & friends, their two daughters help their parents with tailoring, embroidering & handling orders. They are being trained across all facets of the business.

Charaka works to employ & enable the Heggodu residents. They are taught the weaving, dyeing & production process and enabled to start their own units who work with the mother organization.

Shri Prasanna, an accomplished theatre personality is the founder of Charaka.

He has been the voice of the weavers & spearheaded the Handloom Satyagrah in 2013.
