KalaRaksha is a social enterprise working to safeguard interests of women embroidery artisans of Kutch. After doing years of intricate embroideries, older women artisans are prone to a weak eyesight. They now start training younger artisans. To ensure they can continue to earn a livelihood & stay relevant, KalaRaksha started a range of products including patch work wall hangings, fabric toys & traditional board games. While it is easier on their eyes, it still demands a substantial amount of time, embroidery & craftsmanship. The result is some of the most fun & sought after products in the KalaRaksha range.
