Simple Joy

Irfan Khatri has been working with Ajrakh since he was a young boy. He comes from a family of traditional Ajrakh artists.

Irfan bhai continues to learn. He worked & trained with Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya.

While traditional designs are ones he treasures, he finds much happiness in experimenting.

For these stoles, he decided to applique embroider with Ajrakh fabrics. The Kantha stitches & applique waves were made by a neighbouring embroidery artist on the hand woven & hand dyed cottons.

These seemingly simple stoles are the work of many hands.
